God vs Me

Luke 15:11-32

When we hold to the supremacy and sufficiency of self, we deny God. The parable of the prodigal son teaches us that the man who pursues himself, through self-fulfilment or self-righteousness, will eventually end up alone and empty. The younger brother rejected the father in order to discover himself; The older brother rejected the father through his self-righteousness and pride. Both sons need the love of the father.

God knows the roads we have travelled, and he waits with extravagant love for us to turn to him. Jesus is the greater and true son of the Father who has come to bring us home. You can only find the true version of yourself in Christ, and in making him central to your life.
