Faith and Prayer

James 5:13-20

James wants us to know the power of prayer so we can be people of prayer who pray with faith. God is able to do more than we could possibly imagine, and the means of grace he has elected to use to showcase his power is prayer. Prayer shouldn’t be our last resort, it should be our primary defence. Prayer isn’t just about changing the circumstances around us but the person within us.

Prayer is also not about the level of our faith, but about the object of our faith: Jesus. Faith trusts God with the things seen and unseen, knowing that even if we don’t have the perfect picture we have a perfect God. God’s will is greater than our will, but through Jesus we can have faith that God will work all things for His glory and our good.
