Should Christians Support Same Sex Marriage?

Genesis 2:18-25

We are to mirror Jesus, who loved people, but always called people out on their sin, whilst still remaining loving and servant-hearted. All have fallen short of God’s glory and have a natural attraction and orientation toward a manifestation of sin, of which homosexuality is just one. We can love, support, and care for those in the queer lifestyle as human beings made in the image of God, without endorsing their sinful lifestyle.

Christians are called to speak the biblical truth of God’s view on marriage in love, for God opposes homophobia. Marriage is the foundation of society as it shapes the rights and obligations of parenthood, to raise children under a healthy social structure, which God designed to be between a man and a woman.

We are still to love those with whom we disagree. We pray for those who persecute us, knowing our true home is not earth, but heaven. We are to be witnesses and spokespeople of the truth, love, and salvation, found in Jesus.

We all have an attraction and orientation to sin, and all have fallen short of God’s glory. Jesus came to rescue and restore sinners as our substitute and the atoning sacrifice for all to respond in faith and receive salvation.
