Jesus' Mission

Easter 2013

June 6th 1944 allied armies stormed the dark beaches of Hitler's Europe. The events of D-Day changed the course of WWII. Hard fighting remained to be done in the year that followed but the end result was never in doubt, V-Day (victory day) would surely come.

However, the events of that first Easter changed our world far more profoundly. Jesus, the God-man, came with a mission: to live our life for 33 years and on a far greater D-Day, to die our death on a brutal Roman cross. Three days later he rose again to bring a V-Day, whose death shattering events shook the foundations of our world forever.

Jesus is alive! Those historical events of Jesus' great mission stand before us at Easter. Their truth changes everything. How will you respond?
