Great Sexpectations

Song Of Solomon 4:1-16

Generation Sex has abandoned God redirecting their desire for intimacy to sex. 80% of men watch pornography weekly and two thirds of women watch it monthly. The most popular day for pornography viewing is on Sundays.

Generation Sex sees virgins as lesser beings and commitment as a prison, dividing society into two types: single and lonely OR married and bored. Yet, the Bible does not view singles as lesser: Jesus himself was a single virgin, and Paul applauded singleness as allowing more devotion to God.

Still, the Bible celebrates sex in marriage as for God’s glory and our joy. We are sexual beings. God made the penis, vulva, and clitoris — with the only role of the clitoris being pleasure. Sex is a gift from God, but great sex rests on the pillow of commitment. Sex is the expression of oneness between a husband and wife. Great sex is a multisensory experience, but it begins before the bedroom, with the heart and mind of a woman to be touched before her body. In Song of Songs, the woman feels insecure in her body, and the man affirms her physical beauty. Yet, the woman is the one that speaks first and most often, also affirming her husband. Song of Songs is a biblical book dedicated to sexual love, and God has given the married couple sex for pleasure and for glorifying him.
