The Sermon on the Mount

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” – Matthew 4:17

Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount is a confronting call to repent of bare-minimum obedience and sleepy Christianity; to seek first God’s kingdom and his righteousness no matter the cost.

Too often we settle for less than the life Jesus calls us to and then wonder why we feel unsatisfied and powerless.

Jesus promises comfort, satisfaction, mercy, and welcome into the presence of God as precious sons and daughters. A life of abundant blessing and hope as the kingdom of heaven begins to transform our lives today.

In these few short chapters Jesus does heart work, he looks beyond the exterior and shines a light into our deepest desires and fears.

He convicts and comforts.
He wounds and he heals.
He invites us to Awaken from our slumber and discover the true joy, power, peace, and hope that can be found only in him.
